Responsibilities

 

This is a supervisory level position at a downtown Austin Class A building. The selected candidate will have responsibility for oversight of more than one security officer and must have complete knowledge of the property where he/she is assigned, to include facilities, post orders, emergency contact lists, emergency procedures, special instructions, and all post duties.

 

The selected candidate must demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Access control for guests, tenants and vendors.
  • Enforcement of client and company policies and procedures.
  • Observation and reporting of security concerns and safety hazards.
  • Conduct routine foot patrol throughout the property.
  • Reporting of all pertinent issues and incidents to the operations manager, the client and other Admiral/ADM Department Managers as appropriate.
  • Interaction with a variety of people including; clients, tenants, visitors, public safety officials, employees and the general public.
  • Conduct on the job training for newly hired staff.
  • Assure proper use, and maintenance of all equipment used at the site by assigned officers (keys/key cards, cell phones, radios, etc.).
  • Responsible for scheduling officers to ensure complete coverage.
  • Conduct inspections of officers, appearances, licenses and uniforms.
  • Review written reports and sign-in sheets to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, and legibility.
  • Administer the appropriate level of disciplinary action to include, proper documentation and performance improvement plans.
  • Review Post orders and make recommendations for changes to senior management.
  • Report any major disciplinary problems or complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment, or unfair labor practices to ADM management immediately.
  • Attend meetings with ADM management and the client to provide updates and coordinate events at the site. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The candidate must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have scheduling flexibility, as position may be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Have attended or be able to attend and successfully pass Admiral/ADM Leadership training.
  • Internal candidates must have an exemplary performance and attendance record with NO disciplines within a year of applying for this position.
  • Possess exceptional customer service skills.
  • Be able to multitask.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft office products and be able to operate and maintain site specific security programs.
  • The candidate must have supervisory experience.  Experience in a related field may be considered. A college degree may account for ½ of the experience qualification. Military leadership experience will also be considered as equivalent experience.
